Day 6 – Snowdonia to Newcastleton – 380 Miles.

We had something of an early start this morning – the cockerel at the farm next to the camp site decided to give us a wake-up call at 3:50am! We were far from happy!

However, once the tents were packed away, we set off across the north coast of Wales, through Rhyl and Prestatyn and on to Flint. The Mersey tunnel caused a small amount of confusion as the motorcycle only lane isn't brilliantly marked.

We somehow made it through Liverpool – a city with no road signs – mostly by using the Force! We made our way to Southport, and we passed RAF Woodvale – with the Grobs lined up. However, with the winds as high as they were, there wasn't any flying! Onwards to Lytham St Annes and the jewel that is Blackpool. We stopped for a spot of lunch, and a photo of Hero the bear with the tower.

Again heading north, we entered the Lake District, where it seemed all of the Cumbria Police force was out stopping cars. They didn't bother with us though. Lancaster and Morecabme came and went as did Barrow in Furness.

We had decided to push on today, as we are on a tight schedule tomorrow – we've got a ferry to Bute to catch! To that end, we continued on past Carlisle over the border to Newcastleton where Steve's other half had food waiting!

After 380 miles, and 14 hours on the road, we are all a bit on the tired side!
